friday is a day as good as any other to die

first a tribute to Lewis Carroll in the form of a song by Jefferson Airplane
ARTIST| Jefferson Airplane
TITLE| White Rabbit
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes yo small
And the one that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice, when she's ten feet tall
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah-smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice when she was just small
When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice, I think she'll know
When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the Red Queen's off with her head
Remember what the dormouse said
Feed your head, feed your head

it's good to type when you can't really see what you're typing
that way then the thoughts don't even have to be coherent
or make sense. or flow from sentence to sentence.
each line stands on its own, its meaning embeded within itself
i don't understand how someone can live with the thought
that the only thing worth living for is death
and life is merely something to get out of the way as one hangs on
before death claims him
what is the point then of life
if there is nothing worth living for
hume believed
that no man ever attempted suicide when he believed that life was still worth living
camus believed
that the greatest most important philosophical question was that of suicide
everything else is secondary
what is it about life that so grips people
the magic and the mystery as to why we are living
what we are living for
who created us
for what purpose
a purpose that people find worthy to die for
but what is more important than to live for something
for death is easy
it doesn't even have to be a deliberate choice
with the whole assemblage of plausible accidents that can befall anyone
death lasts a mere second
before one loses consciousness
there is neither time nor room for regrets
but life is different
each moment is another agonising electrical current of regret
when one lives a pointless existence
friday is as good a day as any other to die
