the existence of superman denies the existence of God
nietzsche wrote about zarathustra
and (in)famously commented in the gay science that 'God is dead'
he was remembered for his blasphemies
for anti-sematicism
for anarchy
for nazism and the birth of a monster
for his disastrous and near non-existent love life
for his eventual floundering collapse and fall into insanity
for eating grass
we hate nietzsche for his fleeting brilliance;
the way he burnt out in a glorious display of fireworks
and we hate him for his nihilism, forgetting that he himself
was disillusioned by the apathy he saw in the world he lived in
there is a little nietzsche in each one of us
in a world filled with alienation, moral apathy and derision
we all hate the appendages of the social contract we have signed
and we all are contorted, either by the overarching moralities of an immoral society
or by the fear of being truly free
being mere mortals we are,
we embrace the idea of superman, the man of steel in a red cape
here to take the hands of this world that cries for a saviour
superman represents, in all his caped glory
the inadequecies of God in our world
only a godless world needs superman,
because only in a godless world is there no other saviour
people look at superman, and see him, not as a commercialised denial of God,
but as a hero, the ultimate perfect hero,
against the merciless, ruthless, rich, power hungry villan lex luther.
superman embodies everything good, everything perfect
and lex is the one, who under his polished goodness
is nothing more than a poisoned apple, rotten to the core.
the perfect hero and anti-hero
yet both are two sides to the same coin. both emboding characteristics
of nietzsche's original superman
simply repackaged and twisted, to become a seeming bundle
of pure goodness and pure evil respectively.
for in a nietzchean ideal, good and evil are merely illusions
there is only power and those too weak to see it.
