God doesn't flaunt His power needlessly--He appears through the little things, just so that we too realise how small we really are

Then He said, "Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord." And behold,
the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke
the rocks into pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after
the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the
earthquake, a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.

So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out
and stood in the entrance of the cave. And suddenly a voice came to him and said,
"What are you doing here, Elijah?"

[1 Kings 19:11-13]

sometimes we expect God to work in great ways,
to appear in full blown glory
and to perform great miracles
but we forget, how nothing is too big, or too small
for God to do or take notice of.
that just because God is able to give us all we want and more
doesn't mean that we should therefore test God in his promise of providence
[Matthew 4:3-4]
God knows what we want, and He also knows what it is that we need

sometimes we want mountains to move
just to show off how great and holy we are
sometimes we need great displays of God power just to convince ourselves
that God is real, that God is almighty, and that He cares.

help us take, this simple step of faith
so that we will believe in the things not seen

... Though now you do not see Him, yet believing,
you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
receiving the end of your faith--the salvation of your souls.

[1 Peter 1:8-9]

people like to think of themselves as the centre of the universe,
the most important, the greatest civilisation
so much so that when people theorised that the earth revolved about the sun
they were killed for their blasphemous words of treachery

i believe that God made the universe so immensely vast,
to remind us that we are but dust, and a drop in an ocean

we fall into the narrow band of a goldilocks zone in the universe
and so God also reminds us, that nothing is too small for Him to take notice of
that despite our miniscule size, He has chosen us,
by grace,
to be a royal priesthood
to be His people
