Sunday, October 15
either immanence and immediacy
or transcendence and repose
things in the world are beautiful and aesthetic
like a carpet of feathers
the kiss of snowflakes at the tip of one's tongue
a field of bright red tulips
dandelions trembling in the wind
a million and one colors that dance on the surface of bubbles
we see God when we see beauty in the world
His permeance, His providence, His sustenance
and it imprints in us this sense of urgency,
the excitement for God
and there is transcendence
what cannot be seen by the naked eye
cannot be felt by what is in the world
what exists in the immaterial
if i could grab hold of the rushing air
if i could see a thought and catch a dream
would i find rest and harmony?
is it infinitely great
or a vague nothingness
can the human eye behold
the human ear hear
the human mind process
the beauty of that whose element is neither in space nor time?
