Monday, January 1
merely surface

new year tends to encapsulate a new hope
the seconds, minutes, hours, days and months are reset
everything is relegated to addition of 1 to the year's account
reset. the invisible barrier cuts off the debt of the previous year.
rehash. back to the boring, back to the everyday.

it's back to the age old dissension between heraclitus and paramides.
everything changes. you can't step into the same river twice.
nothing changes. for something to change it must remain the same.
the same life. my life.
everything is in perpetual flux.
its fluidity is constant
and nothing ever changes.

i drift down the river of life
creating little ripples where i tread
as i skim across the surface
touch the water top
i hop, i land, i vault.

the periphery is where all things happen.
God's playground, my garden of eden.
jump. cobblestone to cobblestone.
take off. into the great unknown.
dive. descend lower, decend slowly.
plunge. take a risk, live in jeopardy
